I'm so glad you're aware of all these moments; don't let them get away with celebrating each one . . . whether it's with a laugh or a tear!!
In 2011, my first baby will be thirty. She's a successful professional, but I still think of her as my baby (and she still doesn't mind!) |

yeah my oldest is 17 and he is my baby still. They never really grow away from that title do they? My 14 year old cleaned her room the other day and filled a bag of stuffed toys to donate. It was sad because she has loved them for so long and even i had memories attached to them. I took some great photos tonight, i can't wait to scrap them. Thanks for the hand holding

Oh Heather, I can imagine how you felt. I remember when my oldest (almost 21) cleaned out his room (roughly about 14 or 15, beginning of high school). He filled our garbage can with his childhood. It was hard for me. It is also hard for me to put away my Christmas decorations (takes me all day) as I associate just about all of them with some member of my family ... especially the one's the kids made in grade school.

Oh those tears come with each stage, I think the "going back to college after a week home" is the teariest of all. You know they're gone forever as your little girl (I assume same with boy) - OOo that's sad. I still have some of my daughters' toys after all these years, and some of their drawings. I doubt if I could ever get rid of their toys that my departed family have sent them from England. Then as the grandkids get older and away from you.......
Hey guys. it's in the middle of the night and you have me in tears! |

It is very hard to say goodbye to each stage.. but just to put a positive spin on it.. at least all of you know this.. I see so many people rushing thru their lives and missing all these steps

i put a photo of her just hours old on my blog. The short version of the miracle story is that my husband had testicular cancer and we never thought we would have any more kids, then one day, 10 years later i discovered i was pregnant!!! We were thrilled, shocked, but thrilled. My sister in law found that perfect little shirt for her and Rob found tiny live strong bracelets at build a bear, lol, they are supposed to fit a teddy bear but are still too big for her 8lb, 10 oz frame!!
