Default I don't drink coffee but need to buy a coffee maker!

I'm a tea drinker and don't even know how to make a pot of coffee without
asking how, but dh does and our Starbucks coffee maker died.

This model is no longer available so if anyone has a good maker they could
recommend I'd be so grateful.

I'm exhausted checking reviews, because as soon as I think I found a good
one, there's more reviews saying how bad it is. Thanks in advance.

I love, love, love my Kuerig!! It does require "K-Cups" instead of just using regular coffee grounds, which is a down side, and it's probably not the best choice if he drinks more than a couple of cups a day. They are getting much more popular now and I have found the K-cups at the grocery store, Target, etc.

Cuisinart makes a great coffee pot! We found our last one at Costco

I have a Cuisinart also, and since I like to make a 12 c pot at once, it works for me. It doesn't burn the coffee like my old one.

Thank you for the suggestions - you were so fast. I'll check the Cuisinart and the K-cups. I'll probably buy online if shipping is free.

Dick is already asleep (we walked and walked in the cold today) but I know he really likes his current one, which brews right into a thermal carafe and uses normal #4 filters. I'll ask him in the a.m.

I also like the Cuisenart. Dh is fond of his Keurig, but it's a pricey way to make coffee.

I bought the Delonghi Magnifica from Starbucks a few years ago for Christmas in the hope it would keep us out of Starbucks ...It worked...We make most of our fancy coffees at home now. I love that you just fill it up and it pretty much does everything else for you. Now I need a machine that will make me some scrambled eggs....

We have a Cuisinart currently, 12 cup, gets lots of use.
We had a Krups before that. In between them, I got a cheap mr coffee. My advice- you get what you pay for. It never worked right, never made good coffee, the lid wouldn't stay on.... waste of money in the long run.

and if I could find a machine that would wash all of the dishes and cups... we'd be in business!

Thanks again everyone. I decided on the Keurig for him. He's very frugal and won't like the price tab of the coffee per month, but he deserves a good cup of coffee and I'll make sure we never run out so he won't notice. With the last coffee maker from Starbucks, he'd make a pot and any left over got re-heated the next morning. Yuck!
I liked the idea of the Delonghi Magnifica.....for me, - maybe next year.

I ordered it (the Keurig) through Macy's - they had a terrific sale price and free shipping!
