Cookie Exchange
I noticed that you all did a cookie exchange in 2007 and 2006. Any chance you'll resurrect it for this year? It looked like so much fun... not that I'm an accomplished baker but I always find it interesting to see recipes from other cultures and countries.. DonnaNJ

I am even willing to bake, which I don't like to do, if others will do layouts of their recipes!
btw, I like to eat cookies, just not make them. Baking usually requires following a recipe...

I'm with you on that Maureen... definitely like the eating better than the baking but the kids love the baking it's somewhat of a Christmas tradition.. actually I think they just love watching me throw flour around :-)

Lisa, I love to cook. Baking is a whole other thing because it is more of a chemical process which requires sticking to a formula of sorts. I like to 'mess with the recipe". Cooking was my first real creative outlet.
One of my dear friends gave me some recipes from the bakery in which she worked. Great baked goods! I kinda followed (!) the recipe and ended up with little cakelettes rather than cookies. I now know not to mess about with some parts of the baking process. My dh Dick is the dishwasher, an arrangement he agreed to when we got married 8 years ago in return for fresh, well balanced, home cooked meals every night. I think it's a good balance. ;-)

I saw "cookies" and "layout" and wanted in! But how does this work? We bake cookies, take a picture, and do a layout with the recipe?

I believe that's the idea... perhaps some of the long timers would chime in and let us know if that's OK? There probably aren't really any rules since it's not a contest just holiday sharing :-)

the original cookie recipe album was a CT project a few years ago. we all made our favorite cookie recipes, took pictures, then made a page. we then uploaded them to shutterfly and made an 8.5x11 landscape album of all of our recipes. i have one sitting on my shelf and i love it!
