Oh Kerry....my heart goes out to you & your family! My dog Trini was put down this time last year, and she too was with us for 16yrs!!!!....and it still makes my eyes water today. Big {{hugs}} and remember all the good times Cody brought to your family!!!

Thank you so much, DD community. You are all so thoughtful and kind.
Our Cody left us peacefully and surrounded by love. It's tough to deal with and we miss him very much. All kinds of wonderful little snippets of memories of his silly self are running through my head right now. I had to wake up early yesterday and drive to Michigan. Tough leaving home this time. Thank you again, your comments are so helpful. Hugs to all of you.

Kerry, you are in my thoughts both over losing Cody and traveling. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet and family member. I am thankful that you were blessed with precious memories of Cody. Thinking of you!

oh Kerry, I'm so sad for you & your family. It's so tough to lose a pet. I posted a while back about how horribly sad I was to lose both my cats at the same time (they were both very ill). Knowing it was the right time didn't make it less painful to say goodbye, and I wish you strength as you make your way through this tough time. I hope that the happy memories can give you a smile even after he is gone.

My prayers are with you. We lost our wonderful and loving boy Marvin last January. I miss him everyday and when reminded of something goofy he would do, I am reminded that he is watching over us and sending us little signs. By the sound of this board, know he will be in very good company over the rainbow bridge until you meet again. And he will always be in your heart and in your memories. I am sorry for your loss. Best to you and yours.

Thinking of you and Cody. We thought we were losing our 14 yo furbaby the other night.We know she is almost nearing the end of her time with us, but we have had her 3 years longer than we expected.
I live the Rainbow Bridge story and have gotten great comfort in it when we have had our other pets (3 cats and 2 rats) pass on. Many hugs being sent to you.
