You ladies are all so very kind. It's really comforted me to read all of the notes and poems you've left for us.
This is especially difficult for two of our girls who are not able to be here with Cody today.
I've just got the biggest pit in my stomach right now. I hope I'm doing the right thing.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Kerry. I know the day I had to put down my beloved Pinky was one of the hardest days I had ever endured. My heart goes out to you.

I love the Rainbow Bridge, Kathie talked about above. I remember when I had to put my Curry dog down after 14 years (also a golden). I told the vet we'd have to come back tomorrow cause we were going home for one last dinner. He got steak off the grill and I got communion with my friend. When we arrived at the vet's he trotted in because they all adored him and kept him with them whenever he had been boarded. We just all sat on the floor in the examining room and he put his head in my lap and the vet gave him the injection. He looked up at me and we held eye contact until his eye closed. It was the sweetest exit I could imagine. I asked the vet about the half life for whatever was in that injection because I would really like to have it for me. That was ten years ago and I still miss Curry.

I hope you and your family can share this grief wrapped in the wonder memories you have shared with us. Love.

I am so sorry Kerry! Can't imagine how difficult this must be for you..my sister had to have her Golden put to sleep back in the spring, a hard decision but April was getting recurring cancerous tumors and had already lost a leg. She wasn't quite as old but close. I imagine your other pets are going to miss him alot too..my condolences go out to you and your family and Jackson and the kitties. Just hand on to all those wonderful memories! He sounds like a wonderful friend!
