Default Who wants to read a good book?

Kathryn (kmartorina) graciously sent me her copy of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I've read it; my daughter-in-law's read it; and my mother's read it. It's a great book that I'd love to mail to someone who'd like to read it, and it will be interesting to see where it travels. We've all put our names and locations in the inside cover. Let me know.

I'd love to give it a go, but it's up to you whether you'd be willing to mail it to me here in the UK.

I don't mind a bit mailing it to you, Chrissy. Just pm me with your address. I think you'll enjoy it.

I read it during my long car ride in Australia. It was really good. I literally could not get enough of the characters and wanted to learn more about there lives.

I would mail my copy to someone ... if only it weren't still out on loan to "someone" who I don't remember (locally)! I'll let you know if or when I get mine back!

I was very sorry when it ended and really want to visit Guernsey now. I would send my copy on but it's already gone to a book sale collection.

I just picked this up at the library today! It was funny...I put my name on the waiting list and got an email Friday that it was in. So yesterday I went by, and it was the audio version! They put me back at the top of the list and emailed me again within 24 hours. Can't wait to read it!

This is my favorite read this year so far. I've read over 50 books this year and it was by far my favorite. I couldn't get enough of it and was so sad when I finished. It's one of those books I will recommend to everyone and probably read many times over.

I think I've heard of this book. Is this one related to World War II and the Holocaust? If so, I would love to read it. My students will be reading The Diary of Anne Frank in January, and I have them do a booktalk on a WWII/Holocaust book, and I always read one, too, and share my book with them. Last year, I read The Book Thief and shared it with my class, and that was amazing.

It is related to WWII, Renee. I learned a lot about the occupation of the Channel Islands during the war.

Very cool. I'll have to go get it tomorrow. My kids just signed up for their booktalk books, and things take me a little longer these days with the two kids, so I should probably get started. Thanks so much for the recommendation, Linda. Can't wait to read it.

I read it after Mollie recommended it - fabulous book! I love the thought of Linda's book travelling around and all the names of the DD people growing on the inside cover!

Actually it's Kathryn's (kmartorina) book, Fiona. She was kind enough to share it with me, and I've passed it on to Chrissy. Wouldn't it be cool if it made its way around the world?

Hoping it arrives soon, though our blinking postal strikes aren't helping. Really looking forward to settling down to read it.
