Well, as some of you already guessed from the page I made ("Bon voyage") - yesterday my family was gathered at my dad's hospital bed.
And in the middle of the might my mother called.
Just wanted to let you know.

I told him and my mother about all the fantastic response and virtual hugs I received, thoughts and prayers - and they were amazed.

From all of us - thank you so much. Peace to each and every one of you.

Dear, dear, Aino.....it must be very wonderful parents to have a daughter like you. I'm sure you meant the world to your dad as he does to you. I'm sorry for your great loss. I wish I could sit with you now. Let me assure you, you will find ways to stay connected with your father. May God hold you in the palm of his hand....peace to you, my friend.

Aino - I'm so sorry - my dad passed 8 years ago on Friday and the loss is so great - words are not enough - just know you are thought of with love,

My friend, my heart breaks for you right now. I pray that God will give you peace and comfort during this sad time. I lost my dad 17 years ago this month, and I still miss him.

oh aino. i ache for you. there is nothing more difficult to go through than the loss of a loved one. please know that you are being prayed for, thought of and virtually hugged by many many people here. may all of that lift you up while you grieve.

Thank you all so much. I am really OK with this. No matter how sad and lonely it feels right now, it is part of life. He is a better place now. That I know.

I will leave for Norway in a couple of days and stay there with my family for a short time.

This is such a sad time for you and your family Alno, and my prayers are with you all. I've been there a number of times and though it never gets easier, when I could be with my far away family and talk, it helped tremendously.
Good luck on your trip, I know you'll find comfort on your visit, and so will your family.
