Default Australian wine homework!

Hey you Southern Hemisphere ladies! I always was a straight-A student, so I did my homework like I was asked during yesterday's chats and went a got myself a bottle of Australian wine I didn't see any of the ones that were suggested, but I found this one and thought it was good! Is extra credit available?

I think you deserve an A+. I'd like to try some Aussie wines, too! Can you list for me which ones were recommended? My DH was out of town the entire weekend so I barely got to participate in any chats...I missed all the wine discussion. But there is a specialty wine store near me that sells just Australian wines...I've been meaning to go there, and now hopefully I can go with recommendations in hand!

Wolf Blass is always a good choice. Glad you liked it Elena.
Jennifer- I like reds from Margret River, or Coonawarra.

This makes me very curious to try out Australian wine.... hmmmm.... Coonawarra sound very exotic. Think I will have to look for this!!

I presume it is best eaten with..... a kangaroo steak???

Yes, great choice Elena! Wolf Blass is a good, reliable wine. I have it more than any other brand. Coonawarra is an aboriginal word for that area of South Australia. Good with lamb, beef casserole, venison... I hardly ever eat Kangaroo - that's just for tourists
A+ for your homework!

Does it taste like chicken? (The kangaroo, that is, not the wine. I don't think I'd like a wine that tasted like chicken.)

Kangaroo is rich like venison. Very good eating. But roos are lovely animals, too. We used to have a family that regularly visited our back yard to sit in the shade in summer. The joey was hit by a car and we had to have it put down. The mother never returned.

Where did you find it and how much was it??? Another Las Vegas enquiring mind might just need to know that info!
Donna

Esther, that's so sad about the kangaroo baby & mom! I would have loved to watch them sitting by my house & it's so sad that the baby died. I get excited when hummingbirds come to my feeders. Creatures are so beautiful.

I will have to try lots of the wines listed here, though...and I'll report back when I have them!

J
