Default I finally got a tablet! Whoo hoo!

hello ladies, I'm so thrilled b/c DH got me a tablet for my birthday/anniversary -- the Wacom Intuos 4...AND the CS4 upgrade. I am one happy lucky lady! The box just arrived from Amazon and as soon as dd lets me, I am going to try it out.

I know so many of you have tablets. Can you point me to any threads or give any advice on the best way to get started? How long did it take you to get the hang of it & feel comfortable with the tablet?

I'm so happy! This is a tabletrific day!
Jennifer

woooo hooo Jen! What a great hubby!!

I took to mine right away. Be sure to go to your settings and play with them. See what you like best. I know some girls only use a portion of the tablet, I use the whole thing, it's just personal preference! Play and see what you like the best!
If you dont LOVE it right away, just keep using it. Dont give up. It may take soem getting used to but its worth it. You WILL fall in love with it!

Bailey has great suggestions I only use mine for certain things (mainly photo editing) but for that, I am now lost without it.

Cool Jen!!! Mine is sadly still in its box. I tried it out and got spooked! I need to hide my mouse and just get through it... especially with photo editing!!!

I have the Bamboo fun and it took me about 3 days to be fully used to it. I would never go back. I have not had a single wrist/arm issue since using the tablet.

The pen has become second nature to me. In fact, I sometimes get annoyed with someone uses my computer because they'll use the mouse and leave it on the tablet. I always know when someones been on my computer!

ENJOY!!!

Jennifer, I LOVE my tablet!
I would suggest that an easy way to get very familiar with it quickly is to play games with it!

Me too Jen.

I am just too lazy to pull it out and try it again. Actually my pen went missing when I had only had it a few weeks ... I blamed our grandson ... but, now I think that it was my fault. Glad I didn't blame him face to face ... only in my head.

We need to challenge each other to learn to use our tablets!

But, back to you Jennifer ... congrats! Your DH is the nicest guy to get you a tablet and CS4 for your b'day/anniversary gift. You should let Isa play with it while sitting in your lap ... that is what I did with my grandson (he was a bit older than your DD at the time) he loved it ... before the pen went missing.

Your husband know you for sure Jennifer. That's a great gift!

I too am one of those who bought the Bamboo tablet mainly for the PSE software, and have never tried it AND lost the pen. I'm ready to try...I presume one can get a new pen??

I pretty much hooked it up and started using it! Put the mouse away (AWAY!) and you will never go back. There are some buttons you can set up as presets I think but I have never done it.. to lazy I guess. But it is sooooo much better for photo editing, masking and selections. You will have fun.
