Default Post your Desktops!

I'm always curious to see other people's desktops... perhaps I'm just nosy, but it's always interesting to see someone else's workflow in action

Post yours!

I recognize many of your icons, but not all. What are they?

Some of the original icons that came with the programs were really ugly/low quality, so I downloaded some and made a few of my own, which is probably why

In order: Finder, Firefox, Mail, Photoshop, Filezilla, my photo folder, Flickr Uploader (I have no idea why I chose a coffee cup, I couldn't find a suitable icon haha), my movies folder, Trillian, Word, iTunes, Last.FM, Excel, Notepad2, Terminal, Dashboard.

I think you just have to attach the file. You can upload the image to TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting and link to it also

This is a great idea, but my computer is OLD and I don't have much RAM, so putting anything besides the default Windows background on my desktop will suck up too much memory. When I worked in IT, we used to forbid our employees from customizing their desktops (and even went so far as to remove the properties options from their monitors) because they would load them up with huge images, then call all day long and whine about how slow their systems were running.

Maybe someday when I upgrade, I'll have something I can post here!

Ok, it better work this time! LOL If not, I have a desktop of yarn--from Lion Brand download. The kids gave me a ration cuz I wasn't keeping up on Katie's freebies and it still said June. So I did my "second love". Ok, second time consumer!

You can also go to the advanced post instead of quick reply, and use the paper clip icon. I just couldn't get mine to be any more than a tiny shot--but it works!

If you think I'm posting what my desktop REALLY looks like, you're crazy. It's rare to actually SEE the desktop because of all the open windows.

But here's what it looks like nice and tidy. As soon as I post this, I will unload the clutter folder. BTW, I keep that dock hidden. It's just up so you can see that I have too many things in it.

Maureen, I love your picture! But don't you get dizzy looking at all those icons?

I am realizing that Macs really lend themselves much better to nice desktops than PCs.

With Windows, all you need to do is press "Print Scrn" which if I remember correctly is above the Insert/Home keys. Then open a new doc in Photoshop and paste it in and resize it
