Here's mine. My dock automatically hides/unhides upon scroll over. The folders along the right side of the doc are quick links to my scrapbooking folders. The orange inset is my second desktop... oops, realizing now I need to update for the Aug Daily Dose Calendar images.

Here is mine. Am I the only one using Katie's cool desktops? I know my icons are hard to see I just didn't feel like moving them all again, I can find them okay. Plus I could use this as the before picture until I get my Mac

Anke, I have used Katie's desktops (they are great!) but been having problems with my eyes the last couple of months and find that the b&w background has helped me cope with it.

I love Katie's desktops only I am like Heather. eye problems, and it helps me to keep my icons on something dark...with all the lights in the office and window sunshine! (Go Florida!!!)

Teehee, I was just wondering that! Hoping she wouldn't be offended as they are fab. I do download them, and will use one one month, it just keeps falling down my to-do list.

Shift-cmd-4 (drag the image you want)

This is a desktop I made in an effort to stay organized. LOL! I make a new one every month, but this is my favorite.

I have to agree about the darker colors for a desktop background. It makes the stuff I have out over the desktop sooo much easier to see.

I've also realized in the two or so years that I've had a Mac, and no more (work) Windows computers, that I certainly use the desktop on the screen just as I do the physical desktop. Stuff that I'm using is out and about and then at the end of a session of whatever, I usually do my electronic filing. Just like a physical desk, there may be a lot 'pending' or there may be a lot in File 13 finally! I also find I was much tidier at work because the it was an official building and the people were always in and out. I had a clean desk policy and a clean computer. At home, things are different I fear.
