OMG I am glad you got out safe... yeah there is alots of "nuts" out there...
Did you manage to get any shots though...??? of the pelican ? |

I would have probably said something just as ugly back..as I was high tailing it out of there! Would like to think it would have done any good to report it, but I don't think it would. He must have had something to hide..sounds pretty guilty to me? Maybe he thought you were a private eye..and someone hired you to spy on him...or he was involved in some illegal transaction and thought you photographed it. Could come up with all kinds of stories for this guy. LOL! Glad you got home ok and your lense or camera didn't get damaged! Sounds scary!

I would have said, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY CAMERA."
Probably thought an ex had a PI watching him.

I would like to think that I would have been tough and handled the situation wisely. But knowing me, I probably would've started crying.
Glad he left and I hope you don't have to deal with anything like that ever again!

Glad you made it away ok - that's definitely unnerving. And don't feel too bad about thinking about the camera before your own safety; I think we all have those moments. (Someone once broke into my apartment while I was home and my first thought was "You dirtbag - you're not stealing my bike!")

You are so much calmer than I would have been. I would have called the police on the spot, after I locked myself in my car first..yikes!

Someone tried to steal my daughter's camera in Paris and she ran after him...and got it back. Scarred me silly when she told me. So glad you are ok!

My first thought would be the camera too- and then i might have started yelling at him back- like "GET OVER YOURSELF YOU FREAK!" and maybe a little push away from me. Then my sarcastic, black humor kicked in and wanted to say "You shoulda shanked him!", but that probably wouldn't be a good idea in actuality.
I'm a big dreamer too. Regardless, i'm glad you're okay and hope you feel okay to go back.

O ! I was just thinking as I was reading this thread about how my daughter, at 15, was stopped walking home from school (ok, she is 40 and they did do that then) by a guy in a car with a map who was, shall we say - exposed - under the map. She not only told him to get a life but also got his tag and reported him to the police! Who knows what we will do but I am glad for you that you are safe and that you know your hood. Totally, totally relate to the camera being your first concern!!

It's true that there are a lot of sick people out there on the streets. It's good there were a lot of people about...just in case.
DH never quite got why I didn't want to walk or bike alone in several areas right by our house...til a woman walking to work was pulled into the bushes at 9am in an attempted rape. Fortunately a car driving by saw it all and the man got out and the perp ran away. However, you just can't avoid the sick, the drugged and the other crazies in life. :-(

Glad you got away safely! My first thought was wondering what he was doing that he didn't want his pic taken?? Maybe he thought you were a PI or he was doing something illegal!! But he had to see you continue to take pics even after he was headed your way? Strange. Strange.

How scarey...I would have been shaking!!!
We had an incident in our own driveway when my son was about 13 yrs old....a guy drove INTO our driveway on our remote ranch dressed up as a woman!!! My son wouldn't talk to me about it...but did tell my DH. He got the plate number and we had sheriff's deputys from 2 counties at our house within 30 minutes....long story short they caught him with all kinds of child porn and all they could do was lock him up for trespassing. I think my son was seconds from being abducted. You just never know what can happen.....so glad you are OK!! Be Careful when you're out running!!

Glad you are OK, but I would still run it by the police. Who knows what this man is hiding. If he bothers you (or anyone else) again, it will be on record. Unfortunately, there are crazies out there.

I'm so glad that this didn't go any further for you Carol . . . I do think that you should at least get this on report with the police . . . and I would change my walking route for awhile too. I am a real scaredy cat . . . . and I’m afraid of my shadow when walking or in creepy places. Glad the lens is o.k. ... and hope that you got some good photos. If you happened to get this guy in one of the shots, you should take it to the police for sure.
