Default Cabbage Patch Doll?

My DD's name just might possibly happen to kinda sorta maybe be the name of my first Cabbage Patch Doll. So, I of course need to document that. After having torn my parent's house apart on numerous occasions, I have found I think every other doll and stuffed animal that I was ever given except, of course, the most important.

I have decided to give up the search for the real thing, and will now settle for a picture/image of as close as possible. Would anyone out there happen to have a bald head, blue eyed cabbage patch doll that is not dressed like a boy (gender neutral is fine) that they could take a picture of? This is literally the last thing I need to finish her baby book.

We can start a different thread to talk about all of the counseling I probably need for 1. naming my DD after a childhood doll 2. admitting that fact in public 3. not being able to just print the book without a picture of a cabbage patch in it.

I can't help you with the picture, but I can tell you I have wished for a picture of the Chatty Cathy doll I had as a young girl!

Oh, I'm sorry, my DD has a brown-eyed, brown-haired Cabbage Patch doll, the one I stood in line for four hours to buy when they came out! Surely someone will have one somewhere . . . my doll's name was Yvonne Zara . . . I always disliked that name, but since it was on the "adoption certificate," there wasn't anything I could do about it! Hope someone can help you.

My DD had a baby cabbage patch doll which (devastatingly) got left behind in a mall. She never wanted another one. I have the adoption certificate somewhere but I can't remember her name at this moment. She never quite got heavily into barbie and hated (thank goodness) bratz dolls. But the cabbage patch dolls were always my favourites for her.

LOL!! I think your sense of humor makes up for it all.
You are going to tell us the name, aren't you??

Sorry I can't help with the doll, but have you checked on Ebay? There might be one for sale there with a picture. You never know; the seller might be a compassionate person & might send you a pic for free even if you don't want to buy one! I'd also try googling the name and see if any useable pics come up. Good luck and I hope you find a pic of the special doll!

Good luck! Sorry, I finally gave mine away to the Salvation Army right before they became popular again. I even had an adopted, adopted one that was like the one you had.. it had been my sister's but she had me permanently babysit it for her one day.

You could try contacting cabbagepatchkids.com if noone has a photo for you and let them know what you are doing and what you would like. If you check their 25th anniversary (has it really been that long, oiy!) collection, you might a photo of what you are looking for and they might give you permission to use it for your personal book.

My first one was Charlene Genevier. I am trying to remember if that was her original name or if that was the name that I had it changed to. You could send in the adoption certificate with a request for name change and get a new certificate back. I think I changed her middle name because I could never say or spell it as a kid.

And since you admitted that, I guess I can admit that if we ever are lucky enough to have a daughter ourselves, we have her name picked out & it is based off of my husband and my World of Warcraft toons... Khatlyn Belle. So if you find a support group, think we need to join.

I have a few of my daughter's cabbage patch dolls in the attic. We definitely have a bald baby one, but I think if I remember rightly that it is wearing blue, but maybe green (?). If you PM me your email I'll send you a pic once I locate it in our very messy attic.

My Cabbage Patch's name was Ellery Rose... so, only a little different although I know the UK people may think it's a boy name. I figured that if she didn't like Ellery then she could always be Ellie or Elle.

sorry I can't help with a picture but the story is just too cute! Did you do a google image search? I sometimes have luck with that when I need something specific. My kids never were into those dolls.

I think my mother still has some of my Cabbage Patch dolls - she kept them for the grandkids to play with. I know I had a bald, blue-eyed preemie (?) doll. . . it was a boy, but I also had a girl one that size. So if the clothes for the girl (I think it was a nightgown) are still around AND the actual doll is still around, I could definitely send it to you. Let me know if you're interested and I'll have my mom do a quick survey at her house to see if she still has all this.
