Default quick update

Yesterday hubby had the Cath done and would you believe they found several blocked arteries, one of them being the left main (50%), totally horrible. So we went from a valve repair to at least quadruple bypass with the valve being the least of our problems. Poor guy has been in there since 11 AM and they told me he might come out around 4, 4.30 but I won't be able to see him for another hour then and just briefly. so I am just sitting in the CCU waiting room scrapping and stuff, texting the kids and going nuts!
I can't even believe it, no symptoms. He would have dropped dead in the not so distant future, what a tragedy and what a miracle that he developed the valve problem so we would find the more serious trouble!
I can't wait for this to be over. Just before going into surgery he told me to get him dressed and take him to Starbucks, poor thing. He was kidding of course but I can't wait to do that again!
Thanks for all your prayers, please keep it up!

Even though the valve problem was scary, you're right that it alerted the doctors to the more serious issue. Continuing to pray.

So glad they are taking care of everything now. Yes, I bet you are going a little crazy spending all that time in a waiting room. Hope they're keeping you updated during the surgery. Positive thoughts and prayers.... Susie

Oh Anke, I think my dh would be asking for a Sumantran (leaded!) at that point! Prayers of gratitude for the discovery and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery.

Thank god for texting, eh?

I'm so glad you posted an update as I've been thinking about you and praying. What a blessing to find the blockage before they did the other surgery. After my husband woke from surgery he really didn't have much pain... of course they have all these 'cocktails' running into them! His biggest complaint was a sore back and the cardiac surgeon said that was typical of large men. But everyone is different! I hope your DH is on his way to recovery already!

Hope you get some good news and some relief soon Anke. I know this bypass is out of the blue, but what a blessing they've found it. Some things are just meant to be I think. Hugs to you.

Amazing isn't it, how something that just seems horrible (valve problems) actually turns around and saves a life by the detection of a more serious problem? We want pictures of the trip to Starbucks! Hang in there & know all your friends are praying for you & yours!
