Default making my home
hi!
i've been 'watching' DD closely for the last few months and finally decided to join in on the family. i live half way around the world from my real family, but have my hands full with raising my own four kids (under 5), beginning the homeschooling adventure, and navigating the waters of a second culture.
i was a journaller long before i was a scrapbooker...scrapping is a way to add art to my words and to remind me to keep taking pictures really its my husband who motivates me to keep creating--he loves to read about life through my eyes and to see the thousands of photos that have up until recently just been buried on a hard drive.
anyway, thanks for giving me a home away from home.

Oh Heather, what a wonderful hubby you have! It's so nice to have support for the joy we feel when we create art, be it through writing or through photography or scrapping. Of course combining all three is the best of all worlds, isn't it. Anyway, welcome to DD, it's great to have you. I have loved looking at your cute pages, I hope to see lots more!!!

Heather that's great news. Firstly to have a husband who "gets it" and secondly that this is a home, you enjoy the news and stories of all the family members, it really is like that. And I know how hard it is to live away from family members (although I'm only 2 hours away, not half way round the world!!), so it's nice to have this constant in your life.

Hi, Heather and welcome to DD - Sounds like you have your hands full with 4 little ones! and home-schooling.
I know what it's like living far from home - spent many years in various African countries and Europe but DH finally retired and I brought him home to Canada -
It's wonderful having online friends and the ladies here at DD are the best!

Welcome Heather! DD is full of wonderfully sweet people and definitely feels like home for me too.
I also homeschool my kids. My husband is in the US Army, so although we are currently stateside, we did live in Germany for 3 years, so I have an idea what you're going through!
