Unhappy Question from a Newbie

K, so I thought it would be cool if I designed my own christmas cards...now stressed, as this is my first time...So I had purchased Ali Edwards brush christmas text words, thinking that I could just put the wrods as the background, plop a picture on..and way cute! ...how the heck do I use these words in photoshop elements...I am lost!

Hello and welcome!

Ali's words can be used as png images or brush files. You can just open the png file of the word that you want to use in PSE. Then create your blank card document and simply click+drag the word art onto you blank document.

Better yet, use the brush file from the set. It's the .abr file. Go to this link to learn about loading and using brushes:

Welcome! If you put Ali's words down first, you can use the layers to place your photo and then move both of them around and play with placement and size. Keep breathing and make it simple and you're likely to get something that will make you happy! Let us see too?

Ok Newbie here with a questions I will read the above tutorial but its kinda long and I'm getting tired so I thought I'd ask two quick questions or at least one is lol..

1) if you find a tutorial or a previous thread can you save these in your profile at all? Like in a favorites or something like that? If so how?

2) I bought a couple of Ali's word photo overlays and tried to put them on my photo and I never did get it on there got frustrated and quit. (this is before I joined this awesome community!) At the time I was doing this in PSE8 if memory serves I opened my photo and the overlay and tried to drag the overlay to the photo?? It would never drag to the photo and/or even stay on it then tried holding down the CMD key and dragging still nothing??

Any thoughts? Sorry thats all I remember I will have to try this again and see why; then I can say exactly what I did. Another confusing thing is I never know if its a drag & drop thing or hold down option or cmd key? How do you know this; just experience I guess??

I'm so excited to be able to yell for help from all this experience on the board - I've already met so many nice helpful ladies..
