I was good friends with Tia Bennett back when she first got into digital and was posting here, so I lurked for a while until I decided to take the plunge into digital...have never really gone to any other digi site!

Unbelievably, I was a die hard paper scrapper-well only for a year-who just knew that I would never do digital! I was at SplitcoastStampers and one of the husbands of one of my friends bought her Jessica Sprague lessons for Christmas, so I signed up for one and the rest is history. Truly, I only found this site because of the lessons from Jessica Sprague-but I am hooked on the brushes-just love the way they look on a page!

I was on bedrest with my first daughter and I was up late watching tv. Nothing on of course and I bumped into The home shopping network. They were selling a computer scrapping software program and I watched glued to the TV. I thought that was the first time that elements actually looked real. I was a paperscrapper since high school, and thought I would never leave. The program came and I wanted more control. Google is my best friend and I found DD and CS4 =) Sold my paper supplies a year later.

I found DD through Shutterfly. I made a book for my Dog that went missing and started browsing the Community Gallery. I know my book looked "flat" by design standards and just about every book I fell in love with over there had DD written all over it! (at least in the credits . . . ) So, I figured I would come straight to the source. . .

I found DD long time ago but then forgot about it until Ali Edward's designs and Kayleigh's stunning pages have brought me back which I'm very thankful for.
DD is amazing place for sure!

well...I was madly searching "free digital scrapbooking" looking for supplies to start and complete a 10 year anniversary book for my hubby...exactly 5 days before our anniversary

DD came up on the google search. I completed my book on a plain white background with horrible drop shadows and a freebie or two and was instantly hooked! Someday I will redo that ugly book!

Looking in Shutterfly for inspiration for me - the exact same book that SarahDanyelle mentioned. I've been digital scrapbooking since I got my first digital camera back in 2000 and was very dissatisfied with the scrapbooking software out there, all the elements looked like cartoons. Now I have a beautiful supply of sophisticated elements and thanks to Cassie's tutorials I'm become effective in Photoshop.

A friend of mine showed me PSE in January of 2007 at a paper crop we were at. I was fading out of paper scrapping, hitting a budget wall and grieving at the lack of brick-and-mortar stores where I live. Nothing. Nada. So I jumped on in.

Anyway, I found the two or three big freebie sites, but soon became dissatisfied with the lack of continuity and design cohesion in the freebies. Really, what can you do with 1000 pieces of paper that have nothing in common? And that one staple and that really strange ribbon with the horrendous drop shadows?

I sent an email to Jessica Sprague (I read the occasional issue of CK) to ask about online stores, figuring she probably wouldn't answer, but I was desperate to find a store with designers I liked.

She wrote back immediately, and asked me what style I preferred, and sent me here. She was right, and here I am! I've never been involved in an online community quite like this one---it's such a great place to be.

I began drooling over Denise Dougherty pages that I saw in those great new digital scrapbooking magazines. I waited like it was Christmas for a new issue to come out. That was how I found DD. It was no time at all before I realized I loved Anna Aspnes too! That was 2005. Some how during a change of some kind, My register date was changed to 2007 but I've been a DD since 2006. I haven't won any major contests or found myself tooted at all, but that doesn't matter. I feel welcomed here. I remember that it was Sam who made the very first comment on my very first page. Gosh. This truly has become a very important and meaningful part of my life . HUMMMMMMM

Like Katrina, it was my upcoming 10th anniversary that got me looking online at photobooks at Shutterfly. I thought I was going to make a photobook of our 13+ years together but I ended up looking at one of Katie Pertiet's albums (I think it was the one of her summer vacation at the beach) and discovered digital scrapbooking, followed the links to DD and have been here ever since. I only wish I had more time to scrap because I'm certainly addicted now...!

What a fun thread! I was a paper scrapper forever, and used my computer for journaling, scanner for school memorabilia, and my printer for photos and such. I thought I was pretty edgy at the time . I picked up a Memory Makers Computer Scrapbooking magazine in July of 2004. I was amazed at the layouts and possibilities, but thought I couldn't ever learn to use the software. Got PSE, started scanning the paper I had at home , and then realized I was wasting time. Kids/work/etc. some time goes by and by the fall of 2007 I had found DD through the Simple Scrapbooks Digital Scrapbooking magazine and the CK Computer Tricks. I lurked for a long time, found much inspiration in Sam's soccer pages, bought and experimented with many products and tried to absorb everything I could. I posted a layout, at the encouragement of my dear MIL, this past spring. I am so glad I did - what a great community. Yes, I think it's a good place to call "home"

I believe I found DD through a google search. I posted a couple pages back in 2006, but felt uncomfortable posting pages here when I was using other website's products. About 2 years later, I finally realized DD products were way superior to some others and moved here permanently. It's a happy home!

Wow, I had a terrible day (cause I was sick ) & you 2 ladies (ccblue & SarahDanyelle) have just made me smile ear to ear! The fact that you both saw my Wedding Album featured at Shutterfly and found/came to DD because of that? Amazing! I'm so glad I put it in the credits and even more thrilled that you are a part of our DD 'family' now!

I found DD through the very talented Kayleigh. I used to paper scrap for years (just like her & a few of our other mutual friends) and she started posting digital LO's on her facebook page and I loved them & asked for details....the rest is history!

Great thread! I've been a paper scrapper for years, long enough to remember when the word "scrapbook" was only a noun and not a verb. I wanted to scrap a vacation to NYC that I took, but was fresh out of ideas, so I did a Google search for "scrapbooking New York City." One of the top hits was a layout posted by MsP:

New York City - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

It honestly never occurred to me to even consider digital scrapping until I saw that page and the other beautiful layouts here. I didn't think that the elements could look so real. After lurking here for a couple of months, I eventually felt confident enough to recently post my first page. To paraphrase Humphrey Bogart from the movie Casa Blanca, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Welcome Squeak!

I found it fascinating to read how everyone found their way to DD! Amazing how those Shutterfly books interest people in the possibilities of digital!

I registered here in January of 2006. I came because I loved the work of Shanah Gordon (aka Shanah Rhymes With Donna) and she had joined the CT here.

I love reading these, I found dd in 06 when searching (google) for digital scrapbooking, I was desperate to find a way to scrapbook but after many failed attempts of completeing many projects with 4 little ones around, I realized the computer would save me. I fell in love with Deena's (deenaw)pages and I scrapped completely in power point for almost a year until I took the plunge and upgrated to PSE..... it didnt take long to see how much talent and inspiration was at DD and I never really looked back!

Default Followed Anna...

I always hung out/posted at either gotta pixel or scrapbook bytes. I always stalked Anna and her layouts/kits at scrapbook bytes way back when...and I was searching for her through google and found her here at DD. I have been a fan (and only post here now!) of DD since!

Well I've only been here a little more than a week so it's easy to remember how it happened.. I noticed a category on Shutterfly for Digital Scrapbooking and found my way to all the postings.. as I worked my way thru them DD came up again and again. I came over and took a look around and everyone seemed sooooo nice so I signed up. haven't posted anything yet because I'm working my way thru the Shutterfly Savvy and Your Kids thru the Lens classes but I hope to have something ready soon.
