Question Text Shaping Questions

I am sure I am just missing something, but I have tried everything I kow to try and still cannot seem to do this right:
I have used a brush/stamp on my page, and I am trying to put a text box NEXT to it. I want the side of my text box that bumps the stamp to take on the shape of that stamp so my text does not cover over part of the stamp. How do I do this in PhotoShop?

You can create a text path that will work for this. Use the pen tool or Marquee tools to create the selection, click on the Paths tab, then click the icon for "Make Path" from the selection. Then you can select the Text tool and click inside the selection to type your text.
