Default please help with brushes!

Hi, I'm new here, and have a question about something I can.not. figure out!

I just downloaded the Ali Edwards handrawn days and months brush set. I save it, get it unzipped, ect. ect.

When I go into Elements and try to load my brush.. I click on the abr aedwards link, click load, it pops me back to my brush pallette, but the brushes aren't there!

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I've googled everything I can think of, and nothing is working!

Thanks so much

~Rachel

Select the Brush tool and click on the brush picker dropdown from the Options bar.

In the brush picker window, look on the right side for a small double-arrow, click that for a flyout menu.

From the flyout menu, select Load Brushes.

From the "Load" window that pops up, navigate to the folder where you unzipped the brush files.

Find the brush (.abr file) you put there, click on it, then click the Load button.
yep.. I keep going back there... I do all this, but when it loads and pops back to my elements screen, the brushes aren't there. I know I must be overlooking something very obvious, but I am totally lost!

Try going to Edit > Preset Manager and loading the brushes from there. LMK if this helps. PSE acts differently depending on how you load the brushes.

ETA: I guess I should ask what software you're using.

I really appreciate your help....

I'm using PSE6.
When I use the preset manager to try to load the brushes, it reloads brushes that I already have! I now have 3 copies of a smiley face brush....

Try resetting PSE and trying again:

Close PSE.
Hold Shift + Cmd/Ctrl + Opt/Alt at the same time while you relaunch the software. It will prompt you with this window . . . click YES.
Then try to load them again.

I am so sorry...

It's still not loading the brushes that I want. I don't know where it's getting this other stuff.

Did I save it wrong somehow? I am so frustrated...

What's the name of the file you're trying to load?

Have you tried loading a different brush? If you need one, there are plenty in the freebie section of the site.

okay, I downloaded a new brush, and loaded it just fine. For some reason, this one AEdwards handdrawn days and months is not working for me.

Check your account to see if you have any downloads of that product remaining. If so, try downloading again to see if it works. If not, contact customer service and they'll help you get a new file.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I'm out of downloads, so I have contacted customer service and am waiting to try again. I did figure out that I could open the PNG file in elements, recolor it, and then place the day over my photo. It's not as easy as using a brush, but I was glad to have figured that out!
