Question Color matching: Photoshop to Epson printer

I am having a big problem with my first download. The print is a strawberry red on my screen, but consistently prints a rusty brown. I've tried changing the image type back and forth between RGB and CMYK, and I've adjusted numerous other options. Is there something big I'm missing?

Ah, ok. Quick and dirty fix: I just changed the brightness of the original image and fooled the printer into printing it correctly.

Which Epson Printer are you using? You have to make sure that your monitor is calibrated correctly. Then you need to make sure you're letting Photoshop determine the colors.

THIS THREAD has the steps suggested by Scott Kelby in his book Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers.

(See Post #5 in that thread)
