Default You can do text in a circle in PSE3!

I've heard a lot that you cannot do text in a circle in PSE, but I've been using it and here is how:
1. you create a new layout (a square the size you'd like, ie: 4x4, 8x8,12x12 inches)
2. Select a font or combo of fonts in a size you would like and write across from beginning of the left edge to end of right edge leaving just one space before ending.
3. Go to layer and simply your layer
4. Go to Filter
5. Select Distort and from there go to Polar coodrinates
6. Select Rectagular to polar
7. And there you have it!
If you would like your text to be read the opposite way, just turn your text aroud before you polarize it!

Let me know if this helps any of you guys!

you can use the same 'trick' for PS7—that's what I used to do before I got CS2. Also, after you rasterize the text, you can stretch the text out vertically {depends on the font, but usually about half to full-size vertical length}. This will keep your font from being distorted once you use the polar coordinate filter on it {since the polar coordinate filter will stretch your font horizontally to create the circle}.

Got to chime in here....Margarete taught me to use this technique on a line of stitching to create a stitched circle too....and I use it all the time! (She's full of good tips, that Margarete!)

Talking Thank You! Thank You!

Leeleer, oh, my, thank you so much for this tip! (I use PSE 3.0) I did it! And, it was easy following your directions!!! OK, watch out, I will probably be covering my layouts with circles of text and you'll have to give me an intervention to get me to stop!

Ooooooooooooooh, can't wait to try this! I've been doing up circles in Word and then copying them into PSE. Which works (thanks, Teri!) but maybe this'll be easier! We'll see... thanks for sharing!
