Default Can anyone tell me where I can find...

...12x12 black frames to frame my digital layouts?

Actually, ideally I'd love to find some that are a few inches larger than that with a decent sized white matte, so the viewable area inside the matte would be 12x12, but maybe that's asking for too much? Since it would be for wall hangings, I would also love to find some that are a bit thicker (as opposed to the thinner, "poster frame" type) -- but again, maybe I'm asking for the moon!

I got lucky and found a black one once at Target, and then went back for more and never saw them again. I would think that since scrapbooking is so hot right now and 12x12 is such a popular format, that these would not be so difficult to find?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thank you!
Dinah

Dinah, this may be of no help but I think I have seen something like that at JoAnn's!? In the frames.

My first two thoughts were Pottery Barn and IKEA, if you are near either one. Otherwise...you could probably custom frame them somewhere if you wanted to pay the $$. That's a lot of help, isn't it? LOL!

I've seen a good variety at Michael's. Archiver's had some, but they don't do sales like Michaels. I think the M's ones are on sale for 40% or 19.99 pretty often.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, ladies!! I do wish I had an IKEA nearby -- I've heard of all kinds of little gems that can be found there.

If you come across any other places (online or IRL) that carry these types of frames, please let me know!

Thank you!!!
Dinah

Oh I love IKEA. We had one in MD but unfortunately not up here. We're kind of in the boonies, so all I can suggest is Michaels or Joanns. Not much help am I?

I think Michael's calls them album frames...they do have a bunch of 12x12's but nothing fabulous. Our pages deserve something wonderful without breaking the bank!

Dinah, I was at Aaron Brothers yesterday, and they had a bunch of 12x12's and 8x8's. Some with thick matts and frames and others without. They're all buy one get one for a penny until the end of the month...soon

I had never heard of Aaron Brothers and checked them out online -- looks like a fabulous bunch of stores!! I'm jealous -- wish we had them here in Illinois.

Thanks for the suggestion though, Kim!! Make sure and stock up on those 12x12s for me -- sounds like a great deal!

Guess what??? I was browsing through the frames section at Target yesterday, and came across a new line of frames they had called "Sprouts" for Scrapbooking -- 12x12" and 8x8" wood frames just for scrapbook layouts! I only saw them offered in a light colored wood (I was hoping for black) -- but hey, it's a start!

Might the mainstream framing industry be catching on to our need for square frames?
