Default Ehd?

I purchased an EHD a few weeks ago but I haven't saved any files to it. I was just wondering if I should run any of the preloaded software or exe files that are already on the EHD or should I just bypass all that and make folders to save my files too?

Thanks angela

I am not sure what others have done but I just bypassed and began copying the files from my current hard drive over to the EHD.

My EHD is continuously attached to my computer, and I save all my files *directly* onto it--I use all the hard disk space on my actual hard drive as scratch disks/RAM caches. I also do an online backup every evening, or as close to it as possible, as I add over a GIG of material per day to my computer. Can you imagine? I remember when my Dad told me I'd never use up the 64K space on my first hard drive... (but I digress *lol*)

Hi ladies thanks so much for your reply. I was planning on bypassing but wanted to see what other people are doing and if there is some special benifit I would be missing if I bypassed. I hear you Heather I feel I am using an enourmous amount of space. I just upgraded to a new PC in April and because I knew once I learned how to digiscrap it would take up a lot of space, I ordered it with 500 gig hardrive. In less than 4 months I'm already down to less than 325 gigs.

I download onto my desktop, then copy to one EHD as backup and transfer also onto my passport which is permanently attached. I also use Mozy. Once all files are on my passport I delete them from the desktop. I like to cover my bases, LOL
