Default Credits?

So I did a quick search and found out I think I have been doing my credits wrong..but I want to make sure.

I know I am supposed to credit the designer and the item (and the kit..which I sometime don't have listed with my item.) Am I supposed to do a list of each designer products or go through each product and then list the designer?

My second question is what do you do if you can't find which kit the item belonged to?
Thanks in advance,

I am not sure if there is a right way - as long as the person reading the credits could find the item should they be prompted to purchase it (like me most of the time, lol)

I usually do mine like this:
All Designer Digitals:
Katie Pertiet - messy stamped trims, ledger grids
Lynn Grieveson - paper bag alpha (recolored), crisp white paper (12/30 freebie)

sometimes it is hard to remember everything, especially if it came from a kit, but I try to keep track as I create, then open a word file, list the title, credits, fonts and type out the journaling

I work in PSE so I rename each layer in the layers palette with the initials of the designer and the kit name. ex: KP_LiftedWings Then I, too always know what was use for each page. :O)

I just try to do the best I can to credit items I use. Honestly, it's part of the reason I don't share a lot online - because there are times that I use something and forget to write it down, and I hesitate to post for fear someone's going to be upset that I inadvertently didn't credit something they made.

So, if I've posted something and forgot you...please know it's not intentional.

I do the same thing Kelly and Katrina do, also because Cassie taught me. I find that it helps when giving credit, but sometimes I look at a LO and want to use am item again. If I can't remember where I got it I can always go back to the original PSD and check it out! Also please remeber to list the fonts you use I love to see a font that I have't used before and then be able to find it and use it in later LO's

I always do it like this: Paper by Katie Pertiet (Designer Digitals, Once Upon A Time Kit). Mask by Anna Aspnes (DD, Fruehling Kit). Font: AnythingButComicSans. Journaling reads: "blahblahboringblah".

=) And I do also rename my layers. But you can just keep a hidden layer at the bottom of your file and just keep notes in that, too...

What a great tip! I never thought of doing this before. I am an instant convert...starting to rename layers...NOW!
