Default A Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper

As duly noted earlier this week, my name is Pattie and I'm an Idea Book junkie as well as a magazine junkie! They print it, I buy it...and many times I'm disappointed when I sit down and really look through my purchase.

Ali Edward's "A Designers Eye" has owned a prominent spot on the top of my desk since I purchased it. As of Tuesday it has been replaced with A Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper This book is AMAZING chickies! (And HUGE might I add.) Page after page of wonderful layouts using delcious patterned papers and each one includes a sketch and Ali's insight into why the papers work in the layout. This isn't just an idea book....it's a classroom on paper...Ali does an incredible job of teaching design and color theories all throughout the book.

AND, if that's not enough for you....wait until you see the marvelous challenges in one of the last chapters! I've been suffering for a very serious case of "missing mo-jo" this week and I honestly almost jumped out of bed last night to fire up my computer and start a layout...THAT'S how motivating these challenges are.

I'm off to create with some treasured drawings my nieces made for me during our vacation...based on the challenge that got me excited last night!

And no....Katie didn't ask me to "swank" (wink) the book....I'm just truly that impressed!

I'm with you Pattie!! It's one of my new favs!! I'm a big Vanessa Reyes fan and a lot of her work is in there! I've been having so much fun looking at that book from cover to cover and like all of the books I love it has already started to fall apart!

Thanks for the review, Pattie -- I so have been wanting this book, and that seals the deal for me!

There's nothing like being so excited about designing a layout that you can't even sleep -- hehe!!

I love Ali Edwards and her work!

I got that book yesterday and so many layouts are GORGEOUS but I'm a big fan of Vanessa Reyes. Some local women here in Hawaii tell me that they know her personally...small world! The way she put the colors and papers together, looks so FAB! I do paper-scrapping but I don't have scanner =-) The next book on my list is Cathy Z and I really think that both Ali and Cathy are great designers!

Any order placed by Sunday will go out on Monday. The international orders are shipped by Global Priority Mail and normally take 4 - 6 day so it should be there by the 26th.
