tips on pse 6.0?

well, i finally did it! i convinced a friend to come to the dark side and go digi. i'm helping her get started tomorrow. i've already had her get Cassie's beginner tutorial, and she's worked through that and done just fine.

my problem is that she's on PSE 6.0 and i have 5.0. (she's also got Vista - eek!) i'm going to be trying to show how to download, set up her basic organization scheme, and a few more tricks for using stuff - can anyone let me know if there are any major (non obvious) differences between PSE 6.0 and 5.0 that i should be aware of so that i don't look like a (complete) idiot?

I don't think any of the things you mentioned will be different. The only thing I've seen that's different in the structure of the program are particular paths and methods for "back door" non-Adobe supported tasks, like loading actions. Everything else is pretty much the same except for a few new tricks it can do.

If you are dragging elements on to your layout you need to drag from the main area down to the photo bin and not the other way around

Littlekiwi... I know this is an old thread, but I was searching and I think this is the same issue that I am having. When I drag an element (like paper) from the photo bin into my layout, it automatically places it in a pass-through layer. I have to simplify the layer and resize each time (very annoying). I didn't have this problem when I was using PSE 5.0 and Windows XP. Is there anything I can do to change it?
