Default Trying to make a brush from a PNG...

I just bought Anna's photo blends clipping masks No. 3, not realizing it's all png files and no brush file. Not a problem at all, except I'd like to use the masks to erase as well!

In CS2, I opened one of the pngs and selected it with the marquee tool. But when I went to Edit, define brush preset wasn't available. How do I make these pngs into brushes?

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried flattening the image, then doing it again? Make sure, also, that your file is in RGB and not indexed mode, that might have something to do with it. But I have no clear answer, sorry!

Well, I think I may have figured it out. I had to get the png onto a new document with a transparent background and THEN select it with the marquee tool. Then I was able to define the brush preset. Yay!

Kelly, it doesn't have to have a transparent background. If there is white, it will become transparent when it's made into a brush. The problem was likely the size. You can only make brushes from images 2500x2500 pixels (about 8x8 in.)

HTH!

I'm off to check that out! Thanks, Cassie!

Yay! Reducing the size worked! *happy dance*
