I'm not much help... my dh bought a laptop at Wal-Mart. It has 512 GB RAM and I've networked it to my External Hard Drive, so I can scrap in bed. Lovin' it!

Hey MA...asking the MAC versus PC question is risky! There are three things I don't talk about at cocktail parties...religion, politics or whether MACs or PCs are better! LOL! Just teasing you girl....both sides have strong feelings. (Just ask Katie!)
As for me, my laptop is a Dell 5160 and I love it. I've got 512 MEG of RAM and I wouldn't go any longer for digital scrapping. If you're going to upgrade anything I'd say go for a better than average video card, at least 512 MEG of RAM and a good sized hard drive if you want to keep all your kits, etc. on it. Mines only a 40 GIG but isn't a problem because I've set an older computer up on my home network just to store my kits on and I can access it from my laptop or desktop. I know lots of other scrappers have external hard drives that they swear by too.

ok...pattie...but i gotta know ....is a mac better than a pc!!!!!!?????
i know i need ram...lots of it...and i need a media card slot for my pic... one thing...with mac i would have to buy photoshop again....i only have it for pc...so that would stink...!!! anyone have one of those cool tablets that you can write directly on the screen?

I can't help b/c I have a PC Desktop, but I would love to get a laptop one day so I wouldn't be restricted to my scrap room so I'm interested to see what people have. MaryAnn you're reading my mind...need the laptop and a tablet, oh and a wide-format printer, and how about a better camera LOL!!!!

Hey MA--I've got an ipod--but it's old--not a nano--got two years ago and love it!
My dh swears by PC... I swear by Mac! I've got 2.5GB of RAM and a 500GB external drive for my scrapbooking stuff! LOL! total memory hog here!
