Default Another Music Moment and b-day invite

My DD is turning six in just a few weeks and she's been trying to decide on what kind of birthday party she wanted. The other day when we were at Target, she decided that she wanted a "Rock Star" birthday party! Seriously?!?! What a little hoot? I've been racking my brain on trying to come up with different activities for the kids. Yesterday when my scrapping mojo was gone, I gave up and started working on her b-day invites! I came up with this. My goal was to have it look like the cover of a magazine. I'm not posting this in the gallery since I didn't use any digital goodies. It's all layers and fonts, and then I made a barcode on a random webside (the numbers are dd's actual birthdate).

That's very cool! I made a magazine invite for Camryn's first birthday and had them printed out magazine size on glossy paper. They looked so much like a real magazine!

I don't have any ideas for a rockstar parties. My oldest has been to about 3 or 4 of them, but I've never stayed.

You might want to blur out your phone number here though...

I wondered that, Kim -- but I thought I'd throw it out because it looked like it could be real~!

Activities for a rock star party? I guess piercings and tattoos are out????? How about musical chairs, name that tune, finish the lyrics, karioke....I know, I'm old, but you could figure out a modern twist....

Very cute birthday girl and invitation!

Fun! My daughter had a rock star party for her 8th birthday last year. I used my digi supplies to decorate the cake:Hybrid Scrapbooking and More: Customized cake decorations - Digital Scrapbooking Blog and Scrapbook Inspiration From DesignerDigitals

We did karaoke and I had a dancing competition where everyone got a prize (best whatever) - I made the trophies out of acrylic wine-glasses and silver duct tape Oh and I got cardboard guitars (pretty big ones) at Michaels and the girls decorated them. The guitars were much cheaper than I expected ~ 10/$4 or something like that.

Hope that helps!

Julia had a Rock Star birthday two years in a row We played a lot of guitar hero and we had a sing off. I also got a little crazy with the eye shadow and glitter. They girls loved it!

Sounds like such fun and your invitation is really cute - fabulous idea. I'm really out of touch for the party idea - haven't had to do that for MANY years!
