Default Windows 7 - view by date taken

This is something that has been bugging me for years. Perhaps I'm the last person on the planet to discover this...?
Windows 7 doesn't have "date taken" as one of the sort fields and has to be manually selected every time you open a folder. (Anyone know a way around this?!)
Anyhow, to add "date taken" each time I had to right click, choose "sort by" and then "more..." and then scroll down a VERY LONG list to find "date taken" to add it.
I just discovered that you can add "date taken" by selecting details view and then right clicking on the column headings. "date taken" is one of the options in THAT list of fields. So much quicker!!
Just thought I'd share in case you have been similarly frustrated!
