Ideas for creating a housewarming/ 1st birthday invite?

So we delayed having a bigger party with family and friends for DD2's 1st birthday until we got into our first home. I want to have a housewarming party but want to celebrate DD2's first birthday too- both very important firsts!
Any ideas? I've been playing with some ideas of taking a pic of DD2 in a moving box and adding it to an invite saying she turned 1 and to come join us in celebrating her first birthday in our first home.
I'm just lost on ideas for graphics or layouts... I don't want it to be too much house or too much birthday...

I think you are on the right track with your photo idea for the invite.

Here's a template for a 5 x 7 invitation that might work. It's cheerful, whimsical and fun without being particularly for a birthday or a house warming and it gives you the opportunity to share your new address plus details for the party.
