Default Got my first Blurb book

For those pondering a switch, I got my first Blurb book today. My 2011 life book - 130+ pages. All in one volume. The quality is excellent - not at all 'dark' as my Shutterfly books seemed to be. The trim on the pages seems as if it is a bit unpredictable - I love bordered pages and generally my borders are all the same size. On some pages the trim has removed the border altogether on the "non-gutter' side, on other pages it appears untouched. I've made a mental note to make all of my borders on future pages larger to allow for this unpredictable trim because I was SO HAPPY with how easy it was to put a book together and then load for printing, and I'm happy to accomodate this problem as a trade off for the convenience of an easy to use program

Thank You, Sharon!
I think I need to get cracking on my 2010-book, since I'm very curious about a book being more than 100 pages!

Thanks for sharing your experience with Blurb, Sharon. I'm convinced to try them out for my next book.

I am going to be more careful about the borders, too. My December album printed at Shutterfly had some issues with the borders. I'm either not going to use borders or make them very wide.

Thanks for the info on Blurb. I will try them out too! And I haven't used borders on the page edges since my first book that I printed with Shutterfly. It was just too unpredictable, too.

Great news as I have a coupon from Blurb that I need to use! Curious, Sharon... what size did you print up? 8x8 or 12x12 or...?

If you don't have a coupon, can I ask the cost? No one brought that up and I don't know if that is a question you should ask. Just a straight 130 page, what size book. I do have a printer I love, but I think they are very high and don't know cuz I have not printed anywhere else.

Blurb doesn't do a 8x8 book....only 7x7. That is only disapointment with Blurb so far. I will be doing my P52 book in 12x12 size. But I am so excited about the ease of making the book.

Blurb books are a bit cheaper than Shutterfly. You can find out their pricing on their website.
I've been using the 8x10 for my 365 book.

Their product and pricing are on their page, but here's 12X12 standard paper. Their premium paper is a bit more and is a little heavier than Shutterfly's.

I have printed with blurb and really love it, thats the first thing I noticed my pages are not so dark, I had a problem with Shutterfly with the darkness, so I would try and lighten my pages and then they looked a little washed out.. so sticking with blurb at the mo, I print 12x12, I wished they printed 10x10 I would love that size... 8x8 a bit tooo small, and I find 12x12 a little big... I really LOVED Esthers 8x10, so Im thinking of doing my London trip that size....

BTW, the shipping costs to Australia was really reasonable, I think $AU10.99... fabulous
