Default Changing colors on Katie's date tabs for 99˘

Hi again,

Is it easy to change the colors on these date tabs? Or will the whole thing look nasty because the outside and words will all change color? HOW can I make them pretty but colorful? I'm looking for the super-Ct special tricks and not a global color change (I think?)

It can be done but it is more difficult with the worn edge. I usually try to select the area I want to change color then proceed. This way the white portion or worn edge isn't effected by the color change. There might be an easier way... somebody I am sure will come along with a different option

This is what I would do - and it's certainly not perfect (I'll leave that to someone else!). I use the magic wand to select the light gray bit (If doing the ones with months, don't forget to also select the insides of letters like D). Then make a new layer from your selection (layer>new>layer...). Use your color picker to pick a colour from the rest of your LO, then use the paint bucket to fill the new layer. Change the new layer from normal to multiply (this lets you see the texture of the original layer). Using multiply will actually change the colour a bit, so you may then want to use Hue/Satuaration to play with it till you get it right. Once you're happy, merge the two layers.
Before you you change the second layer to multiply, you could also clip a piece of patterned paper to the new paint-filled layer, merge and then change to multiply - just another option.

Here's what I would do . . . beg and plead with Katie to make a colorful set.

I like this too, Cassie! I recolor a bit sometimes... it's tricky. I bet Katie would do a colorful set since there is so much in color for Project Life!!

Okay, so magic wand looks like the answer, although I appreciate the alternate responses.

Thanks,

Suzy
