I think it's maybe the 72 dpi. I usually resize to 700 pixels by 700 pixels (if square) but leave DPI alone. I think most monitors can display higher DPI than 72 these days. If your DPI is higher no problem with display, it just increases the file size (but if you resize to 700x700 and save at level "10" there shouldn't be a file size problem).
You might also try unchecking "baseline optimized" to see if that makes a difference. (I'm not sure what that setting is.) Also you can smart sharpen a little after resizing to make things clearer. Hopefully these suggestions will help. |

Hi Kristen
I usually change all my layouts to 600x600 at 72 ppi for web display. I then run the unsharp mask over them (view the layout at 100% when you do this and adjust your sliders to see what looks best) and then save them as a jpeg (high quality). Hope that helps

I do exactly what is said in the "Getting Started" link at the top of the page. I've never had a single problem using these instructions. (Don't just look at the screen shots, you need to read it to see that 700x700 is the size for DD, or 700 on the longest side). I always change my dpi to 72. It's my way of helping with space on the site.
