Default PSE or ACDSee - where should I download my photos?

I use ACDSee for organising all my digital supplies, but I never know where I should download my photos. I usually don't use the PSE Organiser while I'm doing layouts - just ACDSee to PSE Editor as I find that is quicker. So I choose my photos in ACDSee from my photo folder. But I do like the photo organising system in PSE Organiser. The trouble is that often my photos become 'disconnected' when I operate out of ACDSee. I was wondering what everyone else who uses these 2 programs does. Is it better to download photos into ACDSee or PSE?

I download photos to PSE and keep scrapping stuff only in ACDSee. Then when I choose stuff in ACDSee I have it open in PSE Editor. I choose photos out of the PSE organizer, so then they are also in the bin in the organizer. (I think I'm making this clear as mud...)

I keep my photos in iPhoto, and my digi supplies in folders accessed by ACDSee. I don't edit in ACDSee or iPhoto but rather do it all in PSE.

On my Macs I use Lightroom for photos and organize my digi stuff in folders which I then access by ACDSee or just by Finder (sometimes).....

So I am not helpful here....

Looking forward to see what others use though.

I download my photos from my camera into PSE - but I never leave them there permanantly. I let PSE name my photos with the date shot, and I send them into the editor to "fix" them. But once I have done that, I delete them from the Organizer and their permanent location is in a chronological folder on my EHD. I don't use tags, so I just open them into the editor from the various folders.

Thanks for the feedback from all of you. It is always good to hear how others organise their digi scrapping 'workflow'. At the moment I tend to have only ACDSee and the PSE Editor open when I am working. I just grab the photos out of ACDSee along with my supplies. BUT, still like the way the Organiser allows me to organise, tag and make notes. Will ponder further.

I've only just gone from PC to Mac in last six months and I used to have ACDSee on my old laptop but I didn't think you could get it for Macs. I was going to look into using it on my Mac so I can see all my files but have resorted to Picasa at the moment. I liked on ACDSee that you could see what was in a folder (just like in Windows Explorer) but in my Mac Finder you can't see any of the files within that folder as there is no thumbnail preview. Thus you have to manually open up each folder if you want to see what files are in it.

Previews on your Mac folders? oh yes you can! Here's how. That has made a world of difference for me and my ability to 'find'.

Default Thanks Maureen

What a gem you are Maureen for sharing that link. I am seriously missing the pictures on the front of my folders now I am using ACDSee Pro for Macs. Another thing to try. Bless!
