Default ACDSee Mac Pro on Sale and Questions

It's on sale til tomorrow for $89.99. Anyone buying?
ACDSee Photo Software - Photo Editing, Photo Management, Photo Editor, Digital Photography, Digital Asset Management, DAM

I've been playing with the trial version and like how I can write to the metadata in ACDSee and still have the search c apability of the ACDSee database.

I had to add in all of my own categories (keywords sorta) and I wish I could have imported a text file to copy over my keywords from bridge. I'm a little scared that when/if I buy and start on the "paid" version then my categories and keywording I've already done will be lost. Has anyone any knowledge about this? I am on the edge and ready to "jump" into this purchase. A teeny bit more info would probably do it for me.

I personally would get the $12.99 ACDSee APP from the Apple App store.

A few years ago, I won a copy of the Pro Version here at Designer Digitals. I chose to wait for the Mac version, and I got a file with the categories from a class I took. They weren't exactly what I would have used and I still had to tweak my own word choices. I got worn down in tagging and not finding a good reference 'manual' or site info on the specific Mac version.

The App makes it easy to do a search with just words...no categories needed. e.g. Put KPertiet and Preview into the search field...and there they all come. As long as the 'word' you're searching is in the file name, you are good to go!

The App may be a light version, but it's all I need without the necessity of tagging at all. hth!

The BIG advantage of the full verso is that you CAN say metadata and also you can adjust images in the Process panel. While this is TOTALLY redundant if you use Lightroom for images it is really cool to work with products and alter colors and other details.....

At this price it is a bargain....

You will need at least 8 gigs of ram to get the best out of it.

iUma, I dream of more ram but it can't happen on my maxed out at 4G iMac. Santa may be bringing me a new one...

Default Organize program

Was just reading on this on the 29th post. Which is the basic one to get, not with all the bells and whistles that I won't learn anyway. Which is a good site to buy from. Any information from you experienced people would be great, since I have no idea what this is or where to buy it that is safe.

The basic ACDSee for MAC (not Windows) is available ONLY at the Apple App store. Look in the App Store under Photography and it's there for $12.99. The App store is also an icon in your dock..the blue circle.brad with a measuring device that looks like an A.

Yes, it's certainly safe and it helps you organize your digi supplies if that's an issue for you now. If it isn't now, and you keep shopping, it very well may become an issue. Ask us how we know LOL!!

Thank you thank you thank you! One of the things I missed most from my PC was ACDSee. This version is sooooooo much better than the pro version!

Mariap, which version is so much better than the pro version?
Is this another photo manager or does it help with content? I have two many photo managers. Windows comes with one, Elements comes with one, Memory Manager I have. I would like a content one which I thought this was. If I go to their website it has a million of them listed, need to know which one to get.

When I had windows I used Acdsee 12. The current version is 14. It was one of the only things I missed when I switched to Mac.
