When you use the DD spread sheet you can hit Ctrl +F and a search field comes up. You can then type the product name and it will take you right to the product
Does that make sense?

Went to the spreadsheet and did the control F and something did pop up. It says Find What. So I guess I type in, example on of Katie's products, Blendable Blocks 02. Then it gives options which opens a whole lot of stuff I dont' follow at all or you can use find next. If I click that it says microsoft can not find what you are looking for. I am obviously a computer idiot. I do ok in my programs but send me outside and I am lost. I dont' use Microsoft, though I did take a class in it last year, it helped alot LOL LOL, I took it on the old program and I have the new one and have never used it since the class, didn't need to.

If you go to the very first post in the thread with the spreadsheet link, you will see the directions for how to use the spreadsheet. I hava repeated them here. I hope this helps!
This spreadsheet provides an easy way for you to "hot link" to items in the store when you post your supply list with your layouts. It's just another quick and easy way to help our viewers find the great DD products we use! Here's the directions for using this spreadsheet: When you go to upload your layout, while you have the upload page open, also open the spread sheet in Excel. Press CTRL+F and type in what you are looking for. Find the cell that lists the URL of the product. Press CTRL+C to copy. Navigate to your upload page and press CTRL+V to paste. Keep going back and forth until you have added all of the products you have used in your layout. Thank you for adding your hotlinked products to your post so that others can enjoy the products too!

Is this of any help? Note: It's the info in the E column of the spreadsheet that contains the link you want to copy and paste.

I have found that you need to be exact when typing in the product name, so that has caused me problems in the past, so now I tend to type in a bit of the name, then click 'find next' until it's at the one I need.
Once you get used to it, it's very straight forward. So my process is: While creating my page I list my products in the file info bit that you find under the file menu in PSE. Then while I upload I copy and paste those into the description box. Then I open the spreadsheet, and click cmd+F and type in the first item I'm looking for, that usually highlights the box which has the name of the kit (or whatever). I then click 'find next' which moves it to the cell containing the link. I copy that and paste it into the description box. I continue with the rest of the products in this way .hth!

An extra tip:
If you click on the A at the top of the first column it highlights the whole column and limits the search to just that column. Then if you select "Find All" (instead of using "Find Next") it lists ALL of the occurrances of the search word in that column and then you can instantly see the one you want and click on it.

Because you must be so exact in this (and most any other spreadsheet), I always used the short zip name - I call it the SKU name even though all products do not start with that. Anyone tell me what that name is actually called?
If you go to this weekend's 50c item, - Harvesting Letter Box Brushes and Stamps you might miss that little dash at the beginning. However if you look for the zip name down below the full description you will see this...DS205428. I found it a lot easier to search for that shorter name. This always worked for me when I was searching my folders to see if I had bought something also. btw, this is searching Column B on the spreadsheet. hth!

I just did a page, practiced on the marque tools. Then I went to file and did the file information thing. Then I posted it, but my information doesn't show. The only thing that shows it the short blurb I put on there when I posted it in the gallery. I thought the stuff I wrote on elements would go with the picture. I am guessing that is not right, since it didn't. So I have to put the information on the file info in elements so if I bring up the picture again I will know what I did and then redo the information on the gallery before I post it?

. So the paste thing goes on in the upload dialogue, not in Photoshop. And when you paste it in there, you should see the link text, beginning with [url=

I might be going too simple here - as in you might be trying to do something more complicated than I think . . . but you have to copy your links from the spreadsheet and then paste into the description area along with whatever "blurb" you want to add when you post your Layout. Posting your layout is just uploading a jpeg (picture) from your computer. It doesn't have anything else "attached" from elements. You either have to copy and paste your file info and then attach links from the spreadsheet (if you choose to do it that way) or make a list on paper/ computer or in your memory, of what you used and paste the appropriate links in from the spreadsheet.

I am sorry I got everyone all goofed up. I was talking about the spreadsheet and giving credit to people. I miss read what KiKimama was saying and another site said. So, my last post was from an idea I thought was from her. I was thinking when I make my page, if I go under file in elements and then go to file information, in elements and type in the information that it will come up with the page. I thought it was all that simple.
At that time I wasn't using the spreadsheet at all, just the file information in elements. I missed where KIKImama said she copies and pastes from that information. I was trying a different way to do this. It didn't work LOL cuz it didn't post on the picture. I do appreciate everyone coming in and helping. As nuts as you all must think I am by now, the help is wonderful. Wish I had't learned how to us the avatar, someone might go oh man not her again. |
