Default Enlarge photos

I am looking for some software to enlarge photos from Face Book so that they are usable. I am interested in the new "Blow Up 3". Any experience with usable software for this task?

Thanks, Sallie

Oh I know Pattie uses something, I remember reading a post from her ages ago. I think it was the Blow Up thing. Hopefully she'll be able to respond.

"Blow Up 3" looks interesting. It does have a free trial - worth a play?

I had no idea there was such a software! I might have to look into this myself. The kids' friends post lots of pictures I would love to use!

I have used Alien Skin blow-up for a long time. I really like it. I haven't invested in version 3, but I'm sure it's as amazing as the earlier versions.

I (stupidly) took all of Joel's baby photos on our brand-new digital camera, not knowing that they were web quality back then (he's 12.) So I've had to use Blow up to make them usable at all.

I love this thread. The only photos my children send me of my grandchildren are small phone photos or I have to grab them off Facebook. This will help a lot! Thank you!

I do not have Blow Up 3 ... but I use Blow Up Version 2 a LOT. It's pricey, no doubt about it ... but has salvaged many a photo sent to me from family members (who just don't get the "please send me a full size version" thing!) and allows me to use photos I took back in the day when my Sony Digital Mavica was "state of the art"!

I'd suggest you download the trial version and give it a go before investing. I think you'll be pleased at what you can accomplish with the tool.

I just downloaded a trial version of OnOne Photo Essentials for Elements. It has an enlarge feature that I used on this layout, with photos from an earlier digital camera. I discovered that these photos were quite low resolution, and any cropping makes it worse. I do really like how it worked; I'll probably buy it.

There is also another option. It is called Re-sizer Actions and cost $11. I bought it but would also like to try the free trial of Blow Up 3. I hate to download both because my computer is already loaded down with programs. If Blow Up 3 works, I would ask Santa.

Ahhhhhh decisions, decisions.

I had great success with Re-sizer. I used some of the Topaz programs to post process the 72 until it was just what I wanted. Then the Re-sizer was awesome. I was very disappointed at first because I used the 72 without retouching and it just exaggerated the flaws (duh!!!). Now I have a 7x5 at 300 and it looks wonderful. So the secret is post process prior to enlarging.

Thanks for all of the comments!
