And think this is so cool! and did anyone notice that the Biggest Loser has been featuring "life books" on the last two episodes? They are really showcasing the importance of scrapbooking and I think that's awesome!

I think that in this fast paced society people are beginning to miss the connection to family and memories and they are beginning to want to hold on to them. It's wonderful!

I think it's wonderful that the teachers and others are focusing on family and family history.
Life books - an interesting term - also checked out a few other sites mentioned -

The Life Report was of particular interest to me where David Brooks reached out to older people (70+) to look back on their lives and write about it.

How I wish my mother, father and family had done something like this. Brings home the importance of our scrapbooking!

I've bookmarked the site to visit again. Thanks for the heads up!!

That's amazing and fascinating to think of students involved in a project like this. TFS!

One of our patients this week was 98 years old, looked 70, and was sharp as a tack. I congratulated her on her longevity and asked her over her many years, what was the most significant world event that she remembered. She didn't think long before replying, "the end of WWI, because my father came home, but my uncle didn't." She would have been 5 years old at the end of the war. I would have loved to talk to her more....

My Mom, now 91 1/2, told me yesterday at lunch that she wanted to write the life of my Father. She published her book on my Grandmother's life two years ago. I insisted that she write her own stories. Dad had already written a little autobiographical sketch.

BUT no one can tell your own stories for you.

She agreed. And WE agreed she needs a new computer since her's is so slow...

Her last one/first one was bought when she was 85 and that is included in her password. Now... we will have a new password for this new lease on creative memory keeping.

Guess it's genetic.
