Default Zipped files

Do you all saved your zipped files? If you do why do you save them? I am just wondering. I am still learning, trying to organize and it seems i have now read in a couple of places that people saved them. Can zipped files corrupt? I guess i can't go back and change the past but i can start saving zipped files now if that is the consensus.

I don't keep my zip files. I think some people keep them as a backup, but I back up my unzipped, organized files.

I do what Esther does. I used to save my zips, but they just get to be a space hog.

I started keeping the zip files soon into the early days when I realized I had bought the same things twice. Looking for the zip name which is the one like this DS760712 on Ali's 09 Date Stamps made it easier to find. That issue is resolved here since the site now tells you if you've purchased items. I've been doing that since I got here in 2008.

I still keep all my zip files on an ehd, and once the file is unzipped and put in its proper folder, that's the signal that I'm done and it can go into that ehd folder. This is just one more back up for me and with ehds in the 1T+ GB range now, I can be as anal as I like!

hahaha - That cracked me up Maureen!!! I too have used that phrase in regard to myself and some of the things I do!! However, I do not save my zipped files. I'm with Esther on that one - I have my unzipped, organized files backed up to separate EHDs.

Thank you all so much. I feel better about not keeping them for over a year now ( :

I don't keep them. I have Carbonite on-line backup plus weekly backups to an EHD. I keep one EHD at home and swap it out every so often with one I keep off-site at a relative's house. Leslie
