The best thing about the chats/challenges is....

Well, I have 2 things:

1) I finished three layouts already! In one day!
2) I'm inspired by all the layouts in the gallery and how people can take a template or a kit and come up with so many different, creative designs. Awesome!

What are your favorite things about the chats/challenges?

I love to pop in on the chats and see familiar avatars and also see newcomers to our chats all enjoying a day of creativity together. Seeing the inspired layouts in the gallery is like getting a chance to say hello to new and old friends. So glad to see everyone today.

I think they are great motivators too. To me it's a lot of fun when there is a deadline and certain restrictions.

I love the breaks in between chats when I get the chance to browse the gallery and leave comments. It's also a good time to go back and fill in the credits for the pages I've made, since I always skip those when I'm hurrying to post a page. And I totally enjoy the more subdued chat pace.

And, that I actually find time to hang around on such days. It's my treat in a busy life right now.

I love seeing so many people join in, and it's nice to see faces too with our avatars compared to just the names in the chat room. But I will say it's less exciting to me without the chatroom, I totally forgot the events were today until I'd already missed the first two, so I'm a bit peeved by that, my fault I know, and I seem to be in the minority with everyone else liking the forum chats better.

So generally, I love these chat days for giving me the push to complete layouts, and it's like a digi crop, all of us enjoying our hobby together.

I'm in that minority with you, Chrissy. I loved the chats, but I do know that they were more stressful at times because of how fast they went. (Something for us to tell our grandkids about one day, right?) lol This new format is nice though. You are right in that it's like a digi crop. Something I don't get to do around here. It's fun to scrap with friends even if they are in a forum. Looking forward to the next 30MM at the first of the month. Were there any others that will take place like that? I had to work today and missed most of the chats so I need to get back in the loop. :O|

First ... it was a digi crop to me - I made 5 pages yesterday - 2nd with the same set of rules so to speak we all came up with different ideas - its fun to go to the gallery and see the differences. I like the freebies with each chat and seeing how others use the same products. I like learning something new and I really like seeing everyones avatar in the forums. I really like the time in between the chats to just do the stuff we all have to do! I'm looking forward to the 30mm callenge at the first of the month to.

I like both styles but for different reasons. The chat room really was fun, and I never tried to scrap much during those except for the 30mm. This way is slower paced and does give you time in between to do things. I'm fortunate, that I can block a whole day out just for me usually. But having Katie come on earlier is great because I wonder how many people ever heard of her way of blending!! totally opposite of the placement we usually use. What a lesson! I can't wait to try it out...but another day in the car for us. I have to have patience!

I agree, it was such a great way to get a couple of pages started. Lots of great ideas and new products to try out. This was the first chat that I've participated in and I'll be sure not to miss the next one!
