I'm in awe of everyone doing "Days of December" in whatever form! I wish I would do some too...

But with owning a retail store downtown Gothenburg, and not having any kids, December tends to be a blur of work for me...

But I'm looking forward to seeing all the gorgeous pages in the gallery this year too!

That's why you should get your pages designed and ready now! The first year I did it, I only took one photo a day. But our Decembers are unbelievably busy, and if you're in a retail store, I bet you meet interesting people everyday---and the city probably has tons of stuff to look at. You should give it a try! I rarely have pictures of my kids in my December album. A page or two, that's it. Mostly it's sights and sounds, some abstract stuff.

Sarah is right you know. I don't have little kids at home either, but I've done this project for 3 years now. When you said you have a store in downtown Gothenburg I was very jealous of the things you could capture. You could even do a whole book of "December out the front door" or "Come in out of the cold." You could take one picture a day standing in the doorway of your store aiming outside. Or you could take photos of things you see on your way to work and back. I think you'd be surprised at how fun it is. I find that I see, notice (and search out) more when I'm doing this project. No pressure, just giving you a boost if that's all it might take. :O)

Mel, I LOVE your pages and will have to give this year's book some thought. :O)

Feeling very inspired to give this a try, once again! It does seem that if I got myself organized, it would be a lot easier to just place the photos on the page each day. I am thinking I might go with The Twelve Days of Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration, Mel!

Oh WOW Mel.. your pages are awesome.. (and now, after looking at your temps) my last years book is too OTT christmassy.. I LOVE the method you mentioned, re: looking at my last years one, and deciding on what I DON'T want to do this year.. I'm going to give it some serious thought (thank you for prompting me to do it NOW) and choose my papers, frames/masks etc.. I'm very excited.... Thank you for your inspiration.... Good to get us going like this Mel. This year I am actually interested in being SERIOUSLY Christmas cause we're going to be in a Christmas land market. I'm trying to think how to capture that lush abundance of every thing Christmas.

I am so going to do December Daily again this year - Mel, you totally inspired me to do it last year and after looking at your fab blog post I went and had a peep at my album from 2010. Mine's way too Christmassy right from day one (but wow - so full of details that I had already forgotten!!). I will tone it down this year and even hope to do some hybrid stuff (a bit like project life & Ali Edwards). Feeling very excited though and ready to do some serious December Daily planning...xx

just a note Carol - I don't make it about Christmas, more our everyday life in December. I know some ladies make lovely books just about the christmas things, but mine is a bit like a week in the life but..er longer!

Thanks, Mel for the inspiration. I had decided to go with the Eilon kit for my papers etc and thinking over what templates I want to use for sure. I even designed a Christmas card while I was at it.
