Default PS Channels?

I can't wrap my head around channels. Does anyone use them? Sometimes I think that I am OCD about learning everything that PS is capable of and is a waste of time. Are channels any benefit to scrapbooking?

Sallie, just my personal opinion mind you ... but I think channels are more beneficial for photo editing than general scrapbooking. With that said, I find PS Channels to be an extremely powerful tool for masking, extracting and color correcting. If you're really interested in learning more about the use of channels I highly recommend Scott Kelby's book "Photoshop Channels."
