Angry Text color gonna lose it!

I CANNOT change the text color from black to white in this text box. I am getting so frustrated. I am in the text box layer...but for the life of me can't highlight the text to change its color. Help! Please!

make sure your cursor at the end of the text looks like a line and then draw it over the text. Or you can double click on your text layer in your layers palette, that should highlight the whole thing...

I can't get the cursor to click on the text. When I am in the text box layer, I double click on the text but I don't get a cursor. It keeps going back to the background page.

I think I'd be inclined to copy what you've written, delete the text box, reset tools and then try again . . . how frustrating!

That is what I just did....I wonder if the problem is that I orginally had the text box on a journal spot. I decided I didn't want the spot and just have the text...so I deleted all but the text. Anyway....I have been working hours on this one page and it's not even that great.

I would do what Sharon suggested plus Make Sure to SAVE, then turn off your program and your computer. If you've been hours on it, you may have jammed your cache which can make a program go wonky. Trust me, the old restart can do wonders!

I've had that happen and when I've just about had it I realize that somehow I've converted my text for editing and it is no longer "text." Could that be the problem?

I have no idea...I just created a new text box on a new layer, put my text in, and promptly deleted instead of saving it....I give! I'm done for today. It's 3:30pm in here in Arizona but it's gotta be 5pm somewhere and I'm having a beer!

did you double click on the T in the text box layer in the Layers Panel?
double clicking the T icon will select all of the text in the box ...
unless...
there is an open checkmark to confirm a change - you'll have to tick that first
or the text is rasterized, like Kelly said.

Yes, I have had this exact problem and it is when I have rasterized the text. I never mean to do that but I must hit some "magic" keys and volia! Ugh!!!

Thanks everyone....I'm not sure I will tackle that page today...I'm still 'mad' at it. ;-)
BUT I will look for the the things that were suggested.
