Adjustment layers

This has to be a "duh" question, but I am still going to ask. I use CS5 and I don't understand the adjustment layers. My problem is that when I use one, it also effects other layers too, even though I just want it for one layer only. I want to "fence" it in.

You can clip it to the layer you want it to adjust Alt-click between the adjustment layer and the layer you want to adjust.

Yes, it is clipped, I need to dig out my CS5 books and do a little research. Thanks for the reply!

If the adjustment layer is clipped to the layer underneath, it really shouldn't affect the other layers, unless you have them clipped together somehow. Very strange...
