Hi Kathy,
I have all of my digital scrapbooking supplies organized in ACDSee - including all the PNGs with no problem. It's one of the things I love about that software. It sounds like your catalog or software may have been corrupted somehow. The first thing I would try is a complete shut down and reboot of your computer. Next, try installing a backup copy of your catalog. If all else fails, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling your software. Just make sure you have a copy of your catalog somewhere else or that you've attached the catalog info to all of your files. It will write a sidecar file to the PNGs since it can't write to the metadata of that file format. I keep a backup on an external hard drive and also write the info to all of the files. This takes a while, so I generally set it to do this overnight. Crossing my fingers and toes for you! |

Thanks Sara,
I hadn't had any problems with PNGs before, either. So I couldn't understand their saying they aren't supported in ACDSee. I've tried rebooting, but that didn't help. I have a backup on an EHD, but can't get ACD to stay open to reinstall. I suppose my next step is to reinstall. Do you think upgrading to 12 would work? Or just cause more trouble? I really like the ACD - don't know what else I would use to catalog all my stuff! |

I upgraded to 12 awhile back and it works great. I had a back up of my catalog and when I installed the newer version I just ran a restore database... voila everything was there tags and all
