Default another organizing question

I have just upgraded from PSE8 to CS5. I had everything organized in elements organizer but now that I have started using CS5, I'm not sure what to do next. Is there a way to import data from PSE to CS5?
If not, I have been reading that ACDsee is a nice program to have. Before I buy, I want to make sure it is "user friendly" with CS5, meaning, is it easy to import the supplies when you need them?
I would love any suggestions you might have!
Thanks in advance!

I use CS5 and I just use bridge to bring in my stuff. I have everything organised in folders and i look at them through bridge. I have all my major folders draged over to the favourites bar on the lleft and I just click between them to find what I want and then double click for them to open in PS.
I tried AcDsee way back and all it did was crash my computer. I belive the newer versions are better though and lost of people use it, so I'm sure some other will comment.

To move from one version of Photoshop to another you need to convert the catalog. I could not find instructions for that for PSE8 to CS5, perhaps someone else can help.

To transfer to ACDSee you need to embed your tags into the metadata of the file. That is a very simple process.

In the Organizer, select photographs, and go to File ->Write Tags...
(Collection names, album names, group names, and the star ratings, are not tags, so they're not embedded.)
Then in ACDSee you can import those embedded tags. I did that when I switched from Organizer to ACDSee. I couldn't bear the thought of having to re-tag everything!!

Thumbs up

Thank you so much for your help. Re-tagging everything for ACDsee was not appealing to me at all!
