Default How many open projects do you have?

I am determined to make a dent in this list before summer and I have another vacation album. So for the short term, you might see more album pages from me than my random "fun" pages.

I have:
  • 2 vacation albums
  • 2 365 albums
  • a Lego gift book for Jake
  • recipe book (I've been wanting to make progress on

That doesn't count the projects I want to start!

Is it just me? What does everyone else have open?

This year I've resigned myself to no 365 book. I have a 50th birthday book to do for my husband and I will have a big vacation book to start in June. Added to that I still have an unfinished vacation album from last year. So, gee, thanks for the reminder, Myra. lol

Me too! I promised myself this year I would not start a new book until an open one was finished. So far, in 2011, I've just finished one--close to completing several, but no time to scrap until after Easter.

Open projects:
*My college album
*Wedding book for a friend
*3, first year baby books for friends
*Safari
*2 Heritage books--maternal and paternal sides of family
*Ongoing books for my two sons

Good luck with your projects, Myra!

My ongoing open projects are:
first priority: 2011 Winter Vacations Album (Florida and Arizona)
Heritage Album of my parents and their siblings and parents (almost finished)
Decades of My Life Album (about 1/2 way completed)
Documenting the Decade Album (2000-2010) (7 years to go!)
Color Album (only 3 pages completed so far)
Art Journal Album (When I reach 20 pages I'll order an album)

plus
Yearly Albums for each of the grandsons (I give them each a book on their birthdays of the pages about them I created the year before)

I don't have any unfinished albums right now. But I would like to make a recipe album, an all about me book, and a book on where I live.

I seem to live an unfinished life!
Utah
I would like to go see the Arches in Utah and then that book would be finished
Ghost towns
Over the past couple of years we have visited many "ghost" towns in Nevada and Arizona and I fear it will need to be a Blurb book because there will be so many pages. We have visited 14 and I am almost finished with 2
Las Vegas
I have taken photos of tons of old neon and many old Vegas sites-I have randomly scrapped a lot of it, so I just need to pull all the pages together and see what I need to to do finish, and we have visited many of the casinos in town and taken pics and I have actually done some of these pages, but not too many-this will have to be a Blurb book too-there will be tons of pages
Lighthouses-
I have 42 pages done, but like to visit some more lighthouses before this goes to print
365
This one is actually all caught up!
Nevada/Arizona
I have pages for Red Rock and Valley of Fire and I think I might add the Grand Canyon to this one
DC Monuments
I have a few pages done for this, but lots to do
And then there all of those thousands of photos from when my kids grew up, I need to scan and get put into books-
It is easy to say that I have plenty to scrap for oh, lets see, several years!! But, you all know I will continue to go and see and document!

Here's what I have cooking:

365 album (ongoing)
beach album from 2010
documenting a decade

I really want to get the last two finished before we go to Europe in May, after which I'll have a bazillion vacation pictures to scrap. And then we'll be going to the beach AGAIN at the first of August -- eek! Karen and I are also going to NYC for a few days in April, and I know I'll take scads of pictures there. So many pictures -- so little time!

Embarrassingly adding my list :

- two Christmas albums (ongoing)
- three vacation albums (very, very slow progress . . . I've sort of lost interest in them)
- a third birthday album for my now 7 year old granddaughter (I've had this unfinished for 3 years now!)
- a cooking cupcakes album for our 4 year old grandson (actually just started this one a few months ago)
- three 365 albums (one is for 2011 so that really only makes two unfinished)!
- a family cookbook that I've been working on for 10 years converting it to digi now

This is as far as I'm going . . . I've lots more that are only ideas in my head!

My "open" projects;

Kenya/Zanzibar in 2007
Utah-Arizona Roadtrip in 2009
Gotland w/ mom and sis in 2009
SG Convention 2008 (almost done)
2010 Yearbook (January through June done)
2006 Yearbook (I'm almost halfway done here too)
Maria's Wedding (my sister has chosen backgrounds, done the journaling and placed the photos already - now I'm going to "pimp" the pages)

Planned projects;
Husband's & Stepson's US-trips 2010
SG Convention 2009
NYC Weekend w/ Amy & Marlene 2008
2007 Yearbook
2008 Yearbook
2009 Yearbook
2011 Yearbook
Documenting a Decade (we got married in 2000, so I figured a recap would be fun and I'm scanning APS-films every evening!)

1 (or 2) books with all the in store signing-sessions we've had with Swedish and international bands/artists over the years. I'll do this one when everything else is done!
I would also like to do a digital project on my own wedding in 2000. But that will have to wait, since all the professional photos have to be scanned one by one, and I already have gorgeous (paper) albums from this occasion!

Hmmm... Considering I have at least 2 vacations and a Scottish wedding coming up during 2011, I really need to gear up!

Here's my list of books I need to finish:
* 2007 travel blog
* EVERY year book - I can NEVER finish those last couple of pages
* documenting the decade

Does anyone have any suggestions for those pages that just do not inspire and stop you from finishing an album? Do you just leave them out? Do you just scrap them and be done with it?

Myra should have asked what we HAVE finished and why!
I find my 365 books easy to get done because I use a simple template.
I seem to be able to finish my holiday albums because they are fewer pages.

I really need to finish my the pages from our Maine vacation last fall. And my husband and his friend went to Key West and took lots of great photos that I'd like to make into an album. We're planning a trip back with the wives included so I can make it a 2-part book, giving me more time!

Well, considering my children are in their thirties and I didn't start scrapping, even with paper, until about ten years ago, I have over twenty years worth of my children's lives to scrap.

I am also the keeper of the family heritage photos and stories, so they are waiting around to scrap also.

Of projects that I have actially started and not finished, I have:
My book of the homes I have lived in that I started four years ago
Our Paris vacation from 2001. What is done is paper.
Our Alaska cruise from 2009. (I weighed 85 more pounds in the photos and can't bear to look at them!)
Books of 2009 and 2010 for each of my grandchildren
My grandson's tenth birthday trip
Disneyworld vacation
And I'm sure there is more I can't even recall right now!

Big sigh.

I have on going 365 of course.... and I gather up my scrapbook pages every few months to put together in a book.
Thats all I'm doing right now... {I think LOL} .... We have some special trips this year that will each get a book of their own. One to Portugal, in about three weeks actually

I am *thinking* of doing a Wedding album for our anniversary this year. I just need to decide if DH would appreciate it enough to justify the work it involves! No offence to Dh but!!!!

I generally don't start a project unless I will be able to finish it. So this is what I have going on this year...

2011 Family album
Continuing 3 books one for each kid ( I try to cram in as many pages as I can get!)
365 project
Disneyland Album (after our trip in May)

and I already finished the Documenting the Decade project this year which I LOVE!

I feel pretty good that I don't have many things in the halfway stage.

My 365 pages, a page a week, are coming along, and I've just decided they are not going to be a bound book but rather a D-ring so I can add ephemera to page protectors too. My own version of Project Life?

I have half of an 8" Canada album from last year to complete but knowing how that vacation ended has kind of dampened my enthusiasm. I do want it done tho and now that Ali's Yesterday and Today is going into it's final week, I'll make that commitment.

My December Daily last year was hybrid so that's done as are the prior two years.

Now if you consider how many trips Dick and I have made over the past 10 years, well ....I don't have lifeteime enough to scrap them all. I would like to do last year's Italy trip so I will probably concentrate on blogging as much of the rest of that one as I can, so I have it documented. I def need to find a way to record what goes on each day - a way that works for me but doesn't seem tedious.

May-June see two big trips for us and i want to go into them without things hanging over my head physically or even mentally undone. I KNOW you all kwim!

Oh gosh...I tend to scrap all over the place. I actually have many baby photos still to scrap of my daughter although her first year is about 85% done. So you could say that I still need to complete year one, two, three, four, five, six and am working on seven years old as well! Several years to complete of my son (who is now 14).

With that being said, I do need to finish a football album for my husband's nephew by graduation (eek!). I dream to one day try a December Daily or 365 project album, but it would be pretty near impossible to do now. Kudos to you ladies that can manage all that at once!

And Esther - I have many of those types of pages that are left unfinished on my hard drive. Occasionally, I will go back and finish one, but that is not the norm.

Well, I only have two open albums:
2011 album
cat album--only one page left to fix, then I can send it off

And two small albums in the lineup to start:
childhood dog album
another cat album

BUT, when I think about my negative/picture scanning projects, I start to feel twitchy! Here's what I have left to do there:
make sure all childhood pictures are scanned (some are, some aren't)
scan all college pictures (album pages are scanned, but pics aren't)

And then there's the big idea of redoing 12 traditional albums and making them digital.

It's best to think about what you HAVE done, rather than what you haven't, I think!
