Default Digital Crops?

Hi Everyone - I was wondering if anyone ever organizes a crop for digital scrapbookers like paper scrapbookers have? Is there a place here in the DD Community for that? I am new to DD and to digital scrapbooking and would love to meet others in my area.

I've never been to an all digital scrap. I normally just take my laptop to my friends paper scraps and they lug in all their gear and I lug in my laptop case! I think some people have had digital crops. Sounds like a wonderful idea!

I was hoping to find some people in the greater Baltimore/Washington DC area to do this but so far no luck.

Maureen, we'll have to plan something and maybe angela would join us and who knows who else! Have to revisit this idea in June when things slow down [hopefully] around here!

Hi Judy - so you are from Georgia? There are several GA girls here at DD. We could possibly meet up and have a crop one day. That would be fun!

Maureen, I'm there twice a year! Wanna get together? And there are a few brick and mortar stores left around, I think there's still a good-sized one in Pasadena/Old Mill (right off Veterans Hwy. across from Shoppers Food Warehouse) that has crops fairly frequently.

If I know far enough ahead of time, I can time my summer visit to Annapolis around a crop. We usually like to come so that we're there over July 4th for the parades and stuff. Maybe? Pretty please? I'm dyin' down here in Lowsy-anna.

Judy, I don't know how to go about finding folks. I tried to find people in my area but we have no brick and mortar scrapbook stores anymore, and the only other folks who do it are either Creative Memories (and the consultants won't let me in to crops) or they're kind of their own group already. Not a friendly bunch. Good luck, though!

I sure would Katie, it would be fun! If you plan something in June, let's not do the first weekend, I leave for Seattle on business and come back midweek.

Beckie, Mungerre, is in NoVA now too. (Beckie, I apologize for not getting over to see you when you had time... )

Katie, thanks for following up on this. 1st week of June I'll be out in Alberta but July looks free.

eta: Valerie, which state?

Sarah, that store in Millersville is still there so I'll stop in and ask one day soon. This kind of event would make the July heat/humidity bearable.

We are moving to South Carolina-really I have no idea where until I find a teaching position. It is a bit of a gamble, but my sons live in SC and have moved my dad there, so off we will go!

This isn't exactly a digital crop in the sense that you meant but some Friday evenings, my gf and I both crop at our own homes and then use skype at the same time. It works pretty much the same as being in the same place. We can talk hands free while working on our own computers and then if we want we can share screens to ask each other opinions about things. So if you have a friend in another state who wants to crop at the same time as you think about using skype to do it "together". Just an idea.

I don't know why I said Pasadena! I might check when I'm out there, too. Whenever I've gone in they've had a room full of ladies cropping.

Not going to crops is the one and only thing I miss about no longer being a paper scrapper. I, too, would love to bring my computer to a meetup sometime. (The only problem is that my supplies are only tagged on my desktop computer. I still have to figure out how to get it all onto my laptop.)
