Unhappy Printer Problems - Again!!

I finally bit the bullet and bought a printer that was on sale. After hours online and on the phone with HP, I'm ready to screech!!! My question was simple (I thought!) until no one could answer it. I've always had a place in the printing menu where I can adjust brightness, saturation, and color before I print. I've always had Photosmart printers - so I bought this one (Premium C310) because it was such an awesome price. Nowhere can I find the place where I can adjust the brightness, etc., when I am in the printer menu. It seems to print darker than I like and I would love to brighten the picture. It used to be so easy!

Does anyone know what I'm talking about - do you have another kind of printer that allows you to adjust your printer settings to print brighter, more or less saturated, etc.? I'm ready to box this one up and take it back along with reams of paper from emails from HP. I just couldn't get anyone to understand - even after uninstalling and re-installing 4x - once from the HP site itself!

Help!! Please!! I'm slipping over the edge . . . . . . . . .

I've used HP printers for years and have never done this. But, I did go to my print function and clicked on preferences. Then there is a color tab; on that tab there is a button for advanced color -- when I click on that it looks like I have the controls you are looking for.

Mine is a photosmart printers, so maybe these options are only available on photosmart, I've no idea how. I'm not sure if this will help you, but good luck

I'm assuming since you uninstalled and re-installed several times that you are talking about whatever software/drivers came packaged with the printer and not just a windows default install.

I have always had Photosmart printers too, but I have always used the printer menu, ie on the printer it's self, not on the computer, to adjust the brightness etc. On my copier/printer/scanner I press "set up" and scroll through using the arrow keys and the OK button to set parameters.

In playing with my computer now, if I go to my start up menu and click on "printer and faxes", I can access a menu called "printer tasks". "Select printer preferences" is the third in the list and there is a saturation menu!

Hope that this helps! Susan

Thanks everyone! You know what I'm talking about! The HP help don't! I think I may have bought the only Photosmart without the color options on the printer screen. I guess I need to bring it back - aaaaargh!!! Thanks again - I now know I'm not going nuts! I've checked all the preferences and there really isn't a place to adjust the color - either they left it out or the printer is so smart it's going to choose for me!! I want my color tab!!!
